This is an awesome example of the difference that height brings to a match. Sasha starts off strong on by getting inside of Mona's reach and scoring early. Sasha controls the match by staying inside and taking away the height advantage. Unfortunately for Sasha, Mona finds some free space in the middle of the round and gets to use the height advantage by using a rear leg wrap to hold control and wrack up the points. And towards the end of the match Sasha had the opportunity for a comeback, but she went high on Mona and, as is often the case, the shorter opponent will not be able to control the taller opponent from above. Mona used her leverage to push of Sasha and win the match. It was a great round and sets a good tone for the rest of the tag matches. Also, crowd cheering is cool, sometimes the cheering gets a bit loud and covers all of the audio from inside the ring, but, IMHO, a bit of crowd participation should still be encouraged.

Great start two fantastic young ladies have got the tournament of to a great start.Mona has really found her confidence in this round good use of her legs won her the round. But Sasha also put up on hell of a fight both wrestlers were exhausted just showing the commitment and effort they give thank you both. As for the cheering its a team game and promotes team spirit there is a lot of talent out there so lots of advice but more important lots of encouragement and support well done ladies jh/uk.

If you don't agree with me, that's fine, but don't tell me to keep my opinions to myself. If I'm giving feedback in a constructive way, without insulting the performers, that's my privilege as a member of the site. Of course you don't have to agree with me, but it isn't your place to tell me what to say or not to say. Give your opinion as freely as you like, but don't try to keep me from giving mine.

Sorry I absolutely disagree. Obviously the wrestlers don' t have a problem to hear their coaches, if they listen at all during the heat of the fight.. Your concerns are unneccessary in my opinion. Let the girls finally do what they do, they don' t need permanently advice and faultfinding. I think the girls and Ariel know better than we what' s good or bad to have success in a match or what could be a problem or not.

Philostratus, of course cheering for your teammate is an impulse, which is one reason why I said that it's understandable. The point is, it makes it more difficult for the active wrestlers to hear their coaches, which is bad for the wrestler, and therefore bad for the team. I never said that it shouldn't be allowed, as in made against the rules. I'm saying that it's a tactical error, which is why I think that the bench-sitters would do well to curb their impulse to cheer.

Hot and fast round 1. Both girls gave her best. I don' t mind the cheering of the team mates at all (much better than the stupid cheering of the live audience in the tag team matches). I think the cheering of the team mates is even an impulse for the wrestlers. Thanks Ariel for this march madness, looks very promising.

Wanting to cheer your teammate on is certainly understandable, but it would be in the best interest of both the wrestlers on the mat and also the team as a whole if the bench-sitters would refrain from cheering or shouting advice, so that the wrestlers can actually hear what their coaches are saying. That being said, this looks like it's going to be a lot of fun.

Going on record as picking Kara's team to win.

Personally, I would have picked Daisy before Rilynn but Rilynn hasn't appeared for a long time, so I'm prepared to be surprised. Sasha impressed with her athleticism early on although she appeared to lack a good defence. Mona had enough experience to score points and conserve her energy by making good use of arm control. The round had good pace except for near the very end when both girls looked exhausted. All in all a good effort by both.
