melizabeth8 I totally respect your comments, this shoot definitely pushed the boundaries of taboo. I am a very staunch supporter of women's rights and also of shooting things that make people uncomfortable and introspective. I'd just like to point out that the story, and in particular the false accusation portion, was inspired by a movie from the 90s and key to the plot. The girl in the story is not supposed to be a moral character.

Thank you for your follow-up. Off the top of my head... a more creative and pro-female plot point (if the "lying rape victim" notion just *had* to be present) might've been to have her LIE to frame an actual and unrepentant rapist/abuser/misogynist. (Just a thought.)

melizabeth8, I thought about you comment carefully, because the issues you bring up are important. I wanted to bring up a few counterpoints however. Nothing on this website is ever presented as reality (other than the fact that the actual performers are self possessed women expressing both enthusiastic consent and their own dynamic sexuality). This update does not condone false accusations, nor does it suggest that real incidents do not happen. It also does not suggest that women who posses their sexuality only use it as a weapon. Veruca's character is clearly in touch with her sexual self, and she is not painted in a negative light because of it. That said I do understand that these are complex issues, and can trigger people differently depending on which particular aspects are personal. Thanks.

In this culture, it is challenging enough for women to overcome strict gender expectations and become "sex positive." Those of us who have accomplished this- at least the women I know- strive also to be fierce advocates for women in terms of reproductive rights, fair pay, non-discrim policy, rape kit backlogs, et al. Women who work as advocates and counselors for survivors of non-consensual relationship violence/sexual assault know well that what is depicted in the closing moments of this video is not only entirely anomalous, but unexpectedly irresponsible. Up until the "false accusation," I'd have rated this a "5." Now, though, I'd rate it a "likely-to-cause-me-not-to-renew-my-subscription." To whom it may concern: I laud boundary-pushing, but pandering to a minuscule number of misogynistic minds at the real-world expense of women? Nope. (Note: I would've likely renewed until age 70.)
